Check boot path and disk hardware. I've tried chkdsk /r, fixboot, and fixmbr. djd says: 6 years ago it says my OS is on E: when in the recovery counsel, don't know why, shouldn't it say it's on C:? About 10 files.

g. I broke my computer but i fixed it using different methods. But, when I put in the WD boot disk, it finds no hard drive. Not to mention I am having a hard time getting it to start up, lose power perhaps? If the hard drive is conflicting with another device on the same IDE cable, moving the hard drive to the secondary IDE cable may resolve the issue. The bootloader issue was tied to the disk itself obviously, interestingly, even though the drive had been wiped.I never could find the legacy/ahci/IDE option in the BIOS. An outdated BIOS version can sometimes cause the "BOOTMGR is Missing" error. Changed the boot order on the dell, however it still boots to OS vista. If it's an internal hard drive, please ensure that the latest BIOS is installed for the computer, motherboard, or PCI controller card.
