My /etc/systemd/system directory does NOT contain the files vmware.service or vmware-USBArbitrator.service or vmware-workstation-server.service, so running the commandsystemctl start /etc/systemd/system/vmware.serviceresults in an error.What do I have to do to resolve this issue?My Is there a name for the (anti- ) pattern of passing parameters that will only be used several levels deep in the call chain? At least one page indicated that a similar sounding problem wasn't resolved by re-installing VMware. I can also copy the VM's to my home directory and open and power them on that way, however I have limited space on my local volume. There's a command sudo vmware-modconfig --console --install-all. Instead of pointing the IDE drive to the "XP-Office2007-000001.vmdk" file, I moved that file out of my VM directory and then changed the ide0:0.fileName value to point to the older *.vmdk As I was running out of ideas, I decided that maybe re-installing Workstation was worth a shot, so I first checked in SCCM Software Center and found it had a Failed This was something of a relief, as it suggested that the problem wasn't with the VM itself.
