It turns out that virtualbox-4.1.18 doesn't like the v4 kernal that comes with vanilla 14.04.4 but it works fine with v3 kernal that comes with Ubuntu 14.04.1 (3.13.0-32-generic). There was an error while executing `VBoxManage`, a CLI used by Vagrant for controlling VirtualBox.
